Getting started
Your first plan in Chalk
Draw a measured layout, furnish the rooms, then explore the same project in 3D.
Start with a template or a blank plan
Open Projects and choose New project or Templates. You can also import a Chalk project ZIP or a native JSON plan.
Draw and furnish in 2D
Use the drawing tools to add walls, doors, windows and dimensions. Select an item to edit its measurements. Choose furniture from the catalogue and place it on the plan.
Explore in 3D
Switch to 3D in the top bar. Drag to orbit, zoom to look closer, or use Top-down view. Switch back to 2D to keep drawing. Both views use the same saved project.
Undo and save
Use Undo and Redo in the toolbar. Chalk saves in this browser; wait for Saved before closing your plan. Reopen it from Projects. Undo history starts fresh when you reopen.
Keep a ZIP backup
Projects stay on this device and in this browser. They do not sync between people or computers. Use Export → Project package to download a ZIP. On another device, choose Import project package to continue from a copy. Clearing browser data can remove local projects, so keep backups of work you want to retain.
Try the MVP
This is an early concept-design editor. Try a room layout, furniture placement, a few measurement changes, Undo, saving and reopening. Dimensions are fixed annotations; update them after moving the walls they describe.
